Graduating at the end of the Fall 2026 semester from CSU Sacramento, I plan to utilize the quantitative and qualitative data skills I've developed through my coursework and involvement in the Psychometrics@Work (P@W) and DIVERGE Labs to seek out either Analyst or Research Data Analyst positions in the private or public sector.

From my time at CSUS, I’ve gained the analytic capabilities with qualitative data sets, becoming familiarized with systems within NVivo, a commonly used qualitative data coding software, and working on a study from start-to-finish. From my co-leading role in the study, I gained the opportunity to develop my skills as a leader, helping steer discussions toward the focus of the studies and create presentation materials for research conferences. For quantitative research, I’ve developed my ability to work with data through my graduate-level coursework as well as my processing of data at the P@W where I had the opportunity to filter and set up various analyses, such as IRT-based analyses, with R-studio. Both of these research lab positions have also given me the opportunity to be involved in- and present research that have largely shaped my desired career trajectory leveraging my DEI and psychometrics knowledge for the benefit of organizations and marginalized populations.

My goals within any analyst position would be to progressively advance within an organization, working to interpret complex texts and research into proposals and presentations that seeks to demystify academic information and analyses for organizational consumption. My end goals within this field would be to work within a DEI or psychometrics position where I can look at psychometrics analyses, such as DIF, to work toward improving the conditions of marginalized populations through concrete metrics. To work toward this goal, post graduation I will be looking toward getting a position in test development or as a test analyst to gain further psychometric experience working with larger datasets. Alternatively, I can start to get experience working on DEI-related fields, such as analyst positions working with government departments like the Department of Social Security where I can work with marginalized populations and potentially get insights that can inform my analyst decisions with various populations as I progress my career.

Whichever route it may go, the primary goal of my career will be to leverage the opportunity I’ve had to uplift others through evidence-backed proposals.
